High Court Ruling Is More Than Just Brexit
Much has been said over the High Court’s ruling over Brexit. The Court has concluded that for Brexit to occur, the issue must be brought forward in parliament, and for it to gain approval. A number of commentators have condemned this action, and perceive it as going against the wishes of the electorate. However, this is more than just a question over Brexit and Britain’s future direction, it is a question over what type of democracy we partake in, and whether Britain is a parliamentary democracy or not. If this is the case, how far should this be defended, or should, following the referendum result, the Government carry on with Brexit without interference?
